
Dr. Thierry Bonnabesse is a highly experienced physician practicing in Upstate New York. He is the founder and owner of Champlain Spine and Pain Management and of Surgical Pain Center of the Adirondacks. Dr. Bonnabesse is one of 13 doctors in the world trained to perform the Discseel procedure.
Dr. Bonnabesse has performed over thirty thousand spinal injections and many of his patients travel from far away to see him. He has been at the forefront of his field for years and offers the most advanced cutting-edge interventional treatments in pain management. That is why Champlain Spine and Pain Management is the first office outside of NYC to offer the Superion procedure to patients in need.
A native of France, he obtained his bachelor’s degree and his Doctor of Medicine Diploma from the University of Vermont. He then completed a four-year residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University Medical Center of Loma Linda in California and went on to complete an advanced Interventional Pain and Spine fellowship. He maintains his dual board certification in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, as well as his board certification through the American Board of Medical Specialties, subspecialty in Pain Medicine. Dr. Bonnabesse has also trained multiple pain physicians since 2005 though his pain fellowship.

Dr. Bobby Oommen, a native of India, graduated as a physician from the Manipal Academy of Higher Education. He then completed in 2000 a surgical residency in orthopedic surgery, and he then practiced orthopedic surgery for another 5 years prior to emigrating to the US. He then completed an internship in General Surgery at Easton Hospital which was followed by a residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. Dr. Oommen then went on to complete a fellowship at the Surgical Spine Fellowship at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital followed by an interventional pain fellowship under the tutelage of Dr. Bonnabesse.
Dr. Oommen joined Champlain Spine and Pain Management in 2013. He has extensive experience with joint and spinal injections both under X-ray and ultrasound guidance as well as with neurodiagnostic medicine. He is also a national presenter at annual conferences as well as an accomplished sports team physician.
Dr. Oommen is Board Certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation through the American Board of Medical Specialties. He is also a certified physician through the New York State Worker Compensation Board. He is a member of the American Society of the Interventional Pain Physician Society, the American Medical Association and the American Academy of Physical Medicine and rehabilitation. Dr. Oommen has been a great asset to our region and he has treated successfully thousands of patients in the North Country.

Brian Lecuyer, a native of the North Country, has been a driving force in the medical field since 1978. He worked as a nurse Administrator in the New York State Department of Correctional Services supervising the medical staff in charge of over 2,800 inmates.
Upon his retirement from the State Department, Brian joined the Champlain Spine and Pain Management team in 2012. He obtained his Nursing Practitioner degree from Stony Brook University. Brian is certified in Pain Management through the American Society of Pain Management Nursing.
He is certified nationally through the American Society of Interventional Pain Physician for opioid management. He has also successfully completed training for an ultrasound-guided procedure. He is also an accomplished lecturer. He is a member of the American Academy of Pain Medicine and the American Society of Interventional Pain Physician.

Kelly Meyer PA holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Vermont and a Master of Medical Sciences in Physician Assistant Studies from the Albany Medical College, where she graduated with honors in 2009.
During her studies, she assisted in neurosurgery and general surgery procedures. Following graduation, Kelly worked as a surgical assistant with the surgical team at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany, NY. Kelly was then selected to fill an advanced laparoscopic surgical position with Ellis Hospital’s Bariatric Care Center. She managed both inpatient and outpatient care and assisted from 2010 thru 2012 advanced laparoscopic bariatric surgery as the first assist with the president of the American Society for Metabolic Bariatric Surgery, Dr. Clarke.
After moving back to Plattsburgh in 2012, she worked at Plattsburgh Pediatrics for five years prior to joining Champlain Spine and Pain Management in 2017.

Dan is a native of Syracuse NY, and currently resides in Saranac Lake, NY. He holds a BS in Biological Sciences, and a MS in Physician Assistant studies. Both of his degrees were completed at Le Moyne College in Syracuse through a 3+2 accelerated master’s program. Upon graduation in 2016 Dan began working in Urgent Care and Emergency Medicine at Crouse Hospital in Syracuse, NY. In 2017 he relocated to the north country and worked at the Community Health Center of the North Country in Malone, NY. Dan provided family health services at this federally qualified health center until 2021 when he joined the team at Champlain Spine and Pain Management. His knowledge and experience gained during previous practice in more generalized medical fields has been valuable in the specialized field of interventional pain management. Dan is nationally board certified through the NCCPA and licensed in the state of NY. In his free time, you will find him spending time with his three dogs biking, hiking, skiing or on a boat.
